Aftershocks

Every aftershock starts as a coil.

Aftershocks measures how quiet a coin has been, and marks the hour that quiet ends. Pick your coins. We watch them and message you in Telegram.

An illustration of the idea. It is not market data.

It runs without you.

Set it up once. After that, Aftershocks does the watching.

  1. You pick the coins.Open the bot and choose any coin you want to follow. The bot walks you through it.
  2. It measures every hour. Each coin is read from closed hourly candles and ranked against its own last five days.
  3. It messages you. When a coin you follow reaches 90% Coil, the bot sends you a direct message in Telegram. Not a crowded group.

Inside the algorithm.

Four scripts, one set of math. Each reads real exchange data, draws one thing, and stays quiet about the future.

ScriptWhat it readsWhat it drawsWhat it never says
CoilClosed hourly candles. The width of a 20-candle Bollinger band, ranked against the last 120 hours.A 0 to 100 line under the price. A dot at 100%.When the quiet ends, or which way price goes.
BreakA Coil at 100%, then the first close beyond the band by at least 0.1%.A dot at the breaking hour, and how far the range has opened since. How far price will go.
WeatherFunding, 24-hour change in open interest, the perpetual-to-spot gap, and the 20-day link to Bitcoin. Your coin plus up to five more. One table on the chart.Whether the crowd is right.
FaultThe last 120 hourly closes. It counts the quiet hours (Coil at 90% or more) at each price level.Candles tinted by Coil, plus a profile on the right edge.A level price must reach. The count is from the past.

Add them in this order: Coil in a pane under the price, then Break, then Weather. Read the chart from top to bottom.

The math, in plain words.

The picture. Think of a spring winding tight. The tighter a coin's price range gets, the higher its Coil. A Coil of 100% means the coin has been wound tighter than at any point in the last five days. It does not say when the spring lets go, or which way.

Coil. Take the last 20 closed hourly candles. Draw a Bollinger band around their closes, 2 standard deviations wide. Measure how wide the band is.

Then rank that width against the previous 120 hours, which is 5 days. 100% means no hour in five days was narrower.

Break. The first hour a candle closes outside a 100% Coil, by at least 0.1%.

Every reading uses closed candles only, so nothing repaints. A coin needs 139 candles of history before it gets a number.

This is a measurement. It does not say when the quiet ends or which way price goes.

Questions.

What is a Coil?

Coil is our name for how tightly a coin's price range has been wound, ranked against its own last five days. It runs from 0 to 100%. When a coin you follow reaches 90%, the bot messages you.

Is this a signal service?

No. Aftershocks measures how volatile a coin has been. It does not tell you to buy or sell, and it names no price targets.

Do I need a paid TradingView plan?

No. The four scripts are free and work on any TradingView plan. The alerts run in Telegram and do not need TradingView at all.

Can I use the scripts on my own chart, with my other indicators?

Yes. Add any of them to any crypto chart and stack them with the indicators you already use. Set the chart to 1 hour for the cleanest read. Fault only draws on 1-hour charts and below.

Can I follow any coin?

Yes, any coin Coinbase lists with a US dollar pair. That is about 400 coins today. Type a ticker or a coin name in the bot. You can follow 2 coins for free, and a plan raises that to 5, 10 or 20.

What can I choose besides 1 hour?

Aftershocks reads hourly candles. Other timeframes would be a new measurement with its own name, so we do not offer them today.

How do payments work?

You pay with Telegram Stars inside the bot. Your plan renews every 30 days until you cancel it in Telegram. Cancelling stops the next charge, and your access runs to the end of the period you paid for.

How do I get a refund or help?

Send /paysupport in the bot, or email aftershockshq@gmail.com. Read the refund policy and the Terms for the details.
